WHAT:
Making things. Affordable and accomplishable things.

WHO:
Suitable for amateurs, average Janes/Joes.**

**Particularly useful for urbanites lacking power tools or even a kitchen table.

WHEN:
Whenever I goshdarn can. Lay off me.

WHY:
Because looking at other people's ideas is awesome fodder for my noggin so shouldn't I share a decent idea that someone else can make perfect? Send me a pic if you make something similar to what I post!

WHO'S THIS "ME"?
I am Lynn. I'm an urban planner by training, and a maker of random items by vocational calling. I do my projects in my apartment in Brooklyn, or on the stoop or roof. If you see a 5' 3 7/8" female breaking concrete blocks out on your street, you probably live on my block.

FAQ

Thanks for visiting!

How can I subscribe to your feed if I’m not on Tumblr?

It’s easy.  Two options: 1) click on RSS Feed on the bottom bar of my page (just above the bottom of your browser edge, no need to scroll), or 2) click on Subscribe to My RSS Feed just below my photo.  Then follow the directions.

The search function isn’t working well.  What am I doing wrong?

It’s not your fault.  Tumblr (system-wide) has problems with the search function.  Hopefully they will fix it soon.  Ideally, you will soon be able to search by material (i.e. Mod Podge) to figure out all the things you can make with what you’ve got.  The good news is that I very carefully tag my projects.  If you find a project that uses glitter and you want to see others that do the same, click on the “glitter” tag and you will be shown all projects using glitter.

I want to scan all of your posts, but I don’t want to page through them all.

You can view all of my posts by clicking on Archive on the white bottom bar of my page.  Then you can see little thumbnails of all posts organized by month.  Please note that my personal DIY projects do not have accompanying thumbnail photos within Archive (it’s a Tumblr issue).

I only want to view your DIY projects.  Can I have only those displayed?

Of course.  Just click on My DIY Projects at the bottom of my bio box.  That will load only the projects that I have personally done and created tutorials for.

Sometimes the posts overlap in a funny way.  Why isn’t your site loading right?

I don’t quite know.  A mix of a Tumblr and Disqus and browser issue.  I disabled infinite scrolling capabilities and limited to 15 posts per page to reduce problems.  But the downside is you now have to page through (select “next page” on the bottom left).

Why did you name this Constitutionally Modern DIY?

I couldn’t think of anything more succinct.  All my favorite words are long: aphelion, compendium, cumulative, clandestiny, etc.  The search for a snappy name was holding me up, so I went for it — it’s too late to change now!!

Can I reblog your stuff or use your photos?

Of course!  Just be sure to credit where credit is due, and link to my tutorial (if appropriate).  I always love getting emails too, so if you like, drop me a line and tell me what you’re gonna use.

Will you make me one of your DIY projects?  Or perhaps even guide a group through it?

Absolutely.  Maybe you want a handmade gift for a niece or nephew similar to one I’ve made for mine, but just don’t have the time?  Or perhaps you’re having a party and want to do a DIY activity?  Let me know what you have in mind and we’ll figure something out.

Are you accepting advertisements or sponsors for your site?

I will certainly entertain the idea as long as it’s relevant to my content.

How should I contact you?  What’s your email address?

ConstitutionallyModernDIY@gmail.com.  Or just click on the envelope icon at the bottom of my bio box.
